Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher is going to play the role of former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a biopic.
The biopic is the adaptation of Sanjaya Baru's book, 'The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making And Unmaking Of Manmohan Singh'. Baru is Manmohan Singh's former media adviser.
The book had already created a controversy for highlighting Manmohan Singh's handling of corruption when he was the Prime Minister.
The producer of the movie, Sunil Bohra, said the movie is a political drama. The poster of the movie is out and is captivating. The first look of Anupam Kher in the movie is expected to appear on social media soon. While Kher has agreed to play the lead role, the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised.
The fact that Kher has agreed to play the lead role has caused a stir in political circles. His wife Kiron Kher is a BJP MP. Also, Anupam is a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In one of the interviews, Anupam Kher said, "'Acting the role of anyone in contemporary history is extremely challenging, as comparisons are bound to be instant and inevitable. But as I have always revelled in challenges, right from my first film Saaransh, I look forward to the experience of portraying as PM Manmohan Singh."
The poster is eye-catching. Even a 'mysterious lady' is present in the poster. Well, many of you can guess who I am talking about!
The biopic of a person who has served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 will surely be a delight to watch.
