Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath on Monday demanded an explanation from the , Minister of State of Women Welfare Swati Singh, after her pictures of inaugurating a beer bar in the Gomtinagar area of Lucknow were surfaced. This had taken place in the presence of senior police officers and the government had asked for clarification from them.

The inauguration of "Be the Beer" took place on May 20 in the state capital. There were reports that the IPS officers of Rae Bareli and Unnao districts were also present in the programme. The explanation had been sought from the officers, as both the officers were marked present for the duty when they were attending the inaugural ceremony. Political parties were taken by surprise, as there had been no such precession and the bar Minister Swati inaugurated does not even have a valid license.

The other opposition parties also took it as an opportunity to poke at the Yogi government and criticised them.

Swati Singh, Minister of State of Women Welfare is the wife of BJP leader Dayashankar Singh, who was suspended last year for making allegedly derogative remarks about Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) Chief, Mayawati. Swati was spotted inaugurating a beer bar last week in the town.

She seems to be quite a controversial lady!
