"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." – St. Augustine
Every time I read this quote from the great philosopher, St. Augustine, my heart longs for a vacation from the work and from the stuff that makes my life annoying. My mind takes me on a journey that seems never ending. And why not? After all, the planet Earth is full of natural beauty; of the wilderness of the forest, roaring rivers and SWEDEN.
I say Sweden because it's one of the places that I wish to visit, as most of the people; maybe you too might be having a wild dream to visit there, enjoy the beauty of the Three-Country Cairn in the north or the southernmost Smygehuk headland.
Just when I was planning all of this, "just-like-you," I heard the news which would excite anyone to go to SWEDEN NOW!
Well, it's pretty simple. An online accommodation providing company, Airbnb (to be specific) has done something amazing that could tickle even the dead man to go to Sweden. The country has become the official tourism partner and has decided to provide alternative accommodation to people; unlike hotels. Amazing move, right?
You don't need to book accommodation. Yes, because the country has made all the publically owned land accessible to everyone who visits Sweden. So basically, you need no money.
Not only you can stay anywhere in the Sweden, but you'll get to access more than 100,000 lakeside infinity pools, clifftop terraces, relaxation areas. All of them designed with the Swedish minimalist style.
"Sweden has no Eiffel Towers. No Niagara Falls or Big Bens. Not even a little Sphinx. Sweden has something else - the freedom to roam. It is our monument."
And thanks to the Sweden's constitutional law - "The freedom to roam." This plan wasn't possible without it.
The freedom to roam allows everyone to hangout happily without any fear on the street. Like the Swedish nature, you can cycle, camp, and walk on any land.
Jenny Kaiser, the USA's country manager to Visit Sweden, says:
"This is made possible thanks to a Swedish right guaranteed by the constitution – freedom to roam. This power enables the Swedish people to experience nature and enjoy the beautiful Swedish wildlife. In Sweden, we have everything from high mountains to deep forests, from beautiful archipelagos to quiet meadows. Now, together with Airbnb, we welcome everyone to Sweden and, through freedom to roam, they can share our wonderful nature."
