On May 21st, Hyderabad hosted the final IPL 2017 cricket match and you know which team won? Don't you.
Well, the franchise team, Mumbai Indians, registered their third win in IPL. The last time they won was in 2015 and prior to that in 2013.
The team is owned by IndiaWin Sports Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd headed by Mukesh Ambani. This is the reason why you often see Ambanis watching the match. In fact, the whole family is interested in cricket. Mukesh and his wife Nita Ambani have three children - Isha, Akash, and Anant.
But what I'm about to tell you is not as common. After Mumbai Indians won the championship, photographers present at the stadium clicked Nita hugging someone whom you haven't noticed. The pictures got viral in minutes and I bet you you will not be able to recognise him either.
Have a look!
Nita Ambani is the chairperson of Reliance Foundation. Being a sports lover, she never misses a match played by team - Mumbai Indians.
But, we are forgetting something here. Can you tell who gave a big hug to Nita Ambani after Mumbai Indians won the trophy?
Nikhil Meswani (right) is the Executive Director on the Board of Reliance Industries.
As you can clearly see the level of excitement both shared after their team won IPL 2017 trophy. He picked up her as a gesture of joy which emanated from the win.
Nikhil happens to be the cousin of the Mukesh Ambani, and brother-in-law of Nita.
As per reports, Meswani got a raise of Rs 2.39 crore in 2016.
Nikihil has obtained a degree in chemical engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. He joined Reliance Industries in 1986.
He also takes care of the corporate responsibilities in Reliance Industries besides looking into corporate affairs and group's taxation matters. But with all that, he has a keen interest in the IPL cricket franchise Mumbai Indians.
In 2016, he was ranked 24th in top 40 Power Players' list released by Independent Chemical Information Service (ICIS).
