'Goodmorning, mom... Happy Mother's Day'... I think most of your duty of honouring your mother gets completed by saying this simple statement.
What about making her feel special, what about expressing your feelings towards her?
For the ones who still aren't aware that why actually Mother's Day is celebrated, let's recall its origination. It began in the 20th century in the United States -- it is not a mere celebration to honour mother of your family but also to appreciate their motherhood and their influence in the society.
Although the great day is an annual and global celebration, Mother's Day is acknowledged on different dates in the calendar in various parts of the world. But in India, it will be celebrated on May 14, 2017.
Establishment of Holiday- The modern day holiday for Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908. It was when Anna Jarvis organised a memorial for her mother at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. Actually, she had carried out a campaign in 1905, the year when her mother died, to make 'Mother's Day' a recognised holiday in the US.
Anna Jarvis' mother Ann Reeves Jarvis had been a peace activist for years, who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the American Civil War and hence created a Mother's Day Work Clubs to address the health issues of public.
Now that we know the history, let's come back to the present...
InnerVoice by WittyFeed thought of doing something special for mothers across the country. Yes, not everybody is expressive, not everybody has the courage to confront their mother and let them know about their love. So... InnerVoice came forward to help.
InnerVoice provided people with a platform to come forward and share their 'Mother's Day Tale'. It had three purposes -- you could let your heart out, your mother would know how special she is to you and the world will be knowing about your bond.
Let's have a look at some of the selected posts... which I am sure will relate to you in some or the other way.
