Model Sofia Hayat has finally tied the knot to Romanian interior designer Vlad Stanescu in a grand wedding that took place in London. Sofia looked every bit beautiful as she walked down the aisle. The sacred union was held at Royal Battersea Park in the Victorian Bandstand. The couple went totally Indian, with Vlad wearing a sherwani and Sofia a golden beautiful Indian dress. And guess what, the couple made their own ceremony because they did not want to conform to any law.
There were 70 guests, all family and close friends. They had their own words and traditions too! This fairytale wedding was definitely extraordinary and totally different from traditional weddings. Wonder how this fairytale wedding was put together?
Well, check out the lovely pictures from the wedding, while you read the wedding story shared by Sofia post marriage. Beware! You might just fall in love with Sofia and Vlad.
The sacred union was held at Royal Battersea Park in the Victorian Bandstand. The park was beautiful with many beautiful birds such as swans, stalks, robins, magpies. As Sofia says it's the 'Garden of Eden'.
Sofia was going to wear a £100,000 dress, a white dress, but Vlad was keen on wearing the Indian style Sherwani, so when they went shopping for a Sherwani, Sofia saw this beautiful gold dress and fell in love with it.
To her good luck, the dress happened to be in sale, and had a 75% off! The shop where they got their wedding attire was an Indian design store called Daminis in London.
There were around 70 guests, all family and close friends.
The couple didn't want to conform to any kind of law and so they made their own ceremony, words and traditions - everything was all theirs!
In most cultures and traditions, the bride is given away, but in this wedding instead of saying the usual line, "you may kiss the bride," the High Priestess said, "you may kiss your king."
The head Bridesmaid was Sofia's closest friend, and supposedly a son from her past life. And here's the big one - he wore a dress, lipstick and carried the infinite cross of Egypt (Ankh) that signifies the infinite realms of existence!
They had met their High Priestess about 3 months back. She was not just a woman, but she had both male and female parts and this was sacred to the couple.
The guests were all encouraged to come as their divine selves. The wedding was all about freedom!
The guests who did not come as their divine selves were given 'feather wings' and 'crystal tiaras'.
The bridesmaids were made Angels with wings and crystal tiaras.
There were four white unicorns that pulled a glass carriage with the royal crown to carry the 'Queen of Egypt' to the sacred bandstand in the park! There the couple exchanged rings and Vlad was crowned Sofia's 'King' with the Egyptian crown.
After the crowning and the sacred ceremony, 13 doves were released in the park!
The doves signified the union of love and peace for all of humanity. It was a magical experience as the doves circled above their heads and flew off into the trees!
