She is Harshdeep Kaur, a rising playback singer, who has already made her mark in the Indian music industry by belting out popular numbers. 

She has recorded songs for film music in different Indian languages and has established herself as a leading playback singer of Indian cinema.

Harshdeep Kaur was born on December 16, 1986, in a Sikh family in Delhi and inherited music from her father, Savinder Singh, who owns a factory of musical instruments. She began learning music at the age of six. At 12, she joined Delhi School of Music to learn piano and hone her skills. She got married to her friend Mankeet Singh in 2015.

Harshdeep has already become a sensation in Bollywood and has worked with some of the best music directors of the industry over the years including A.R. Rehman, Amit Trivedi, Pritam, Vishal-Shekhar, Salim-Sulaiman, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. 


She paid her reverence towards music by lending her voice to a prarthana 'Ek Onkar' featuring A R Rahman in Rang De Basanti which ironically became a turning point of her music career.


She has also given some of the best songs of the time like Katiya Karu from Rockstar, Heer from Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Ik Onkar from Rang De Basanti, Zaalima from Raees, Nachde Ne Saare from Baar Baar Dekho, Bari Barsi from Band Baaja Baaraat, Kabira from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.

Over the years, Harshdeep has expressed her infinite love for Ghazals time and again. This love for Ghazals has stemmed from the Ghazal maestro, Jagjit Singh, her inspiration. She aims at entertaining her fans in a similar manner like the virtuoso Jagjit Singh did at his concerts.

Junoon – Kuch Kar Dikhaane Ka on NDTV Imagine in September 2008.
