Indian start-up ecosystem has a new entrant - our beloved cow!
Cows, which are revered as mothers, have been an inherent part of Indian families for thousands of years. I have come across family portraits in villages with cows posing alongside the family members.
But, what is Gujarat government upto?
Have a look.
After implementing strict laws against cow slaughter, Gujarat Government will set up a venture fund for cow-oriented start-ups to develop cow based industry in the state.
The industry will include professional cow rearing and sale of cow based products such as cow milk, cheese, buttermilk, ghee, cow urine, medicines and beauty creams. To execute the plan, The Gau Seva Aayog is starting a state-wide consultation with chambers of commerce, industry associations, and major companies, to support cow-based start-ups.
Dr Vallabh Kathiriya, Chairman, Gau Seva Aayog, said there's huge scope for the commercial success of cow products a step that can also provide jobs to thousands of people.
Cows are believed to be mature, emotional and loving animals. But a cow can also be mischievous at times and suffers from mood swings like human beings. They can also be annoying, afraid and adventurous. The most interesting part is that the cows can strike a chord with humans easily.
Cows can also bully the weaker cows especially when it's about grabbing the share of grass and entering their barn. Who likes a bully? Scientists say that smarter cows ignore such bullies. Interesting! And you dare not touch their calves, cows can hit you real hard where it matters the most.
With professional and government funded cow based start-ups, one can expect a manifold rise in the quality of dairy products with more private players entering the bandwagon.
Now that the cow based start-ups are getting professionally promoted by the government, we can expect another white revolution. Anything is possible!
