There's more to Bangkok than what you've known!

5 Things About Bangkok That We Bet You Don't Know

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when I say Bangkok? I know what just popped into your dirty little mind! LOL!

Being someone who loves to travel and dig things a little deeper, I decided to do some research work on Bangkok because I was sick and tired of people's judgment and stereotyping.

Well, with my research done right, I figured out that Bangkok is more than what it really is famous for.

For starters, did you know the traditional name for Bangkok is Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit. Yeah, that's what it's called. I'm sure you also wanna know if that makes any sense. Of course, it does, it means City of angels, Great city of immortals, Magnificent city of nine gems, Seat of the king, City of royal palaces, Home of gods incarnate, Erected by Vishvakarman at Indra's behest.

Phew. Wow!

You won't find any place on earth to swoon your taste buds the way it's done in Bangkok. It's where heaven's fall for all the meat and seafood lovers.

Also, Bangkok is a paradise for the sweet-tooths. Fried Banana Pancakes is what I've heard all praises for its sinful taste, and as I write this, I already have water in my mouth.

Yep, you read that right! The city where Red-Bull originated was Bangkok back in the 1970s. The drink that's helped us party like a rockstar and has been an all night companion on those long nights before college exams. *Wiping tears of joy*

I didn't even know Red-Bull was that old!

In Bangkok, the age old traditional laws are still taken quite seriously. Some of them you could be arrested for are:

- Riding a motorcycle bare chest. Applicable for women as well. (you see, absolute gender equality).

- Using a Durian fruit as a weapon. So if you're a short tempered who might supposedly use a durian fruit to hit someone out of anger, the fine you'll have to pay will be equal to the number of spikes on the fruit. LOL.

I'm pretty sure if I ever visit Bangkok, I'll be the last one to commit these crimes!

This BTW is a Durian fruit.

I wonder how I'd survive being hit by that!
