We are the youth of this country and we totally have the right to speak up.
We take a stand and speak our words and are certainly not afraid of anyone. Our newspapers and news channels are filled with news of bans, restrictions and threats to the minorities. We are tired of reading and listening to the news like this and had to speak up.
Delhi University is a democratic space, and students here are bold enough to keep their thoughts. The recent play put up by them created a wave of protest. DUSU president Ashutosh Mathur has sent a letter to the college authorities of SGTB Khalsa College, the University of Delhi, on account of their street play WELCOME TO THE MACHINE that probes the politics of polarization.
The letter sent to the SGTB Khalsa College by DUSU president is indeed frightening the students about their freedom of speech.
The Theatre Society of SGTB Khalsa College (Ankur Dramatics Society) has said “We condemn this craven act and urge theatre fraternity, academics and students to support us, as we move ahead from here.”
Now don't just close the window, raise your voice and share this with your friends and family.
