French artist Abraham Poincheval, 44, is back again! But this time with a new trick of becoming a 'human hen.' Before that, last year, he spent a week on top of a 65-foot pole outside a Paris station. And, he also spent a fortnight inside a stuffed bear eating worms and insects; was buried under a rock for eight days; came into headlines last month, after spending a week inside a rock.
But this artist didn't stop there. Poincheval began his latest unusual feat on Wednesday - Sitting on eggs until they hatch. Check out here, what's interesting about this endeavor?
He is a French artist, who has consequently hit the headlines for his weird experiments to explore varying concepts of time for different species and natural objects in his performances.
And, currently, he aims to mimic a mother hen by sitting and laying on the eggs inside a glass vivarium at the Paris modern art museum until the chicks come out.
At Palais de Tokyo, his performance called 'Egg' could last 21-26 days. And, Poincheval takes only an half-hour break out of every 24 hours to keep him from cracking.
He looked clearly ill as he stepped into the glass vitrine in the museum in his socks. So, he quickly wrapped himself in a heavy traditional Korean cape and set himself on a laying table which is specially designed to stop Abraham from accidentally crushing the eggs.
For this trick, he is also on a special diet rich in ginger to raise his body temperature to keep the eggs at a minimum of 37-degree Celsius.
He added that he has never been so directly exposed to the public before as every time during a performance he was inside something.
Last month, Poincheval spent a week inside a rock with a body-shaped slot carved out in the same contemporary art museum in Paris.
His ultimate dream is to, however, walk on clouds and for that, he has been working on this project for five years, but it is not quite there yet.
Odd but worthy! This man is an extreme artist.
