Gamers take care of each other. That's what 26-year-old James Young testified after his subway accident when he dropped on the road and lost left leg and arm and faced other injuries.
During his healing, he was approached by the video game firm Konami (the guys who were promoting the new Metal Gear Solid sport) collaborated with some high-tech expert to make James a bionic arm replacement.
The prosthetic arm was created by Sophie de Oliveira Barata, from the Alternative Limb Project, and then given a Metal Gear Solid makeover, among the neat gadgets devised into the robotic arm.
This includes a light torch, a few USB ports for charging, a smart feature watch and even a flying drone which mounts on the shoulder.
The arm itself is commanded by James' shoulder muscles and is quick enough to handle coin-sized things, which is no small feat for the prosthetics now.
The price of this bionic limb was around £60,000 (about $75,000), but as with all technology, it should go down in price soon.
26-year-old James Young stated that after he met with an accident he dropped on the road and lost left leg and arm and faced other injuries.
Humanity is always above all. Sophie has not only changed the life of a gamer, James; but has inspired and given hope to many others like him.
That's all, folks!
