The world is changing with a rapid speed, and it is not only moving forward in achieving great heights, but also in achieving equality for every individual on this planet. It has become more acceptant of things, and choices that people make.
Recently, Imgur user Selgal, a student from Ohio, has given an intimate photo journal of her transformation from a man to a woman after seventeen months of hormone replacement treatment.
Let's have a look at amazing photographs showing the transition of a man into a woman.
Selgal had begun her transformation at the age of eighteen, but started developing her hair out in her senior year of high school while still "pretending to be a boy".
She instituted taking female hormones just after starting university and soon realised that it would be a long time before she saw any notable differences, and decided to create a photo journal.
Three months into therapy, Selgal was feeling discouraged but said she was starting to feel more like herself.
It's wasn't until a year into her treatment that Selgal started to see results. Thanks to oestrogen treatment, her breasts began to grow, and her skin and jawline became softer.
It is the earliest selfie, in a year, in which she said she honestly started to feel okay with how she seemed.
Her face started to look a little more feminine.
But even twelve months in, she wasn't completely confident and safe and still covered up in loose-fitting outfits.
At thirteen months, Selgal joked that she still resemble a "grumpy dude" as she entered her second year of HRT.
But it was at that time; her more refined look was becoming much more distinct thanks to oestrogen adjusting the placement of fat to soften the jawline and skin.
After fourteen months of therapy, with her long hair and clear skin, Selgal's features were beginning to develop and even her jawline started to get soften.
It was at around this point that she stated that she is beginning to "get cute" after fourteen months of surgery.
By fifteen months, the changes were so prominent that it became hard to believe how changed she looked.
It was also at this time that she started to use more female clothes (but still not smiling that much).
After sixteen months of treatment, there was scarcely a sign of Selgal's previous masculine features left - and there was a smile.
And at seventeen months, she started to wear lipstick and clothes out in public, now is much more positive about how she looks.
She is expecting to get surgery to complete her transformation in the future but will have to spare as it costs $25,000.
For now, she just wishes her photos will inspire others who are going through the difficult process themselves. "It's never too late to change who you are," she says.
"Happiness is real, you just have to be willing to risk anything to find it," she concludes.
That's all, folks!
