Alla is a surgeon based in Russia. She works in Moscow at the Ryazan City Hospital, which is named after the city of Ryazan on the Oka River just 200 km from Moscow itself.
Alla works nearly every day at the hospital, going through the same pre-surgery preparations to ensure that her patients get the best and safest possible care at her hands.
Alla has been a surgeon for 67 years of her life and is said to have no plans to retire in the near or distant future. She still loves the work that she's dedicated her life to.
Alla carries out an incredible 4 surgeries a day on average and it is estimated that she's completed over 10,000 operations during the course of her surgical career.
She says, "If I stopped working, who is going to perform the surgeries?"
Alla is nearly 90 years old and celebrated her 89th birthday in 2016. She's not just caring for patients either - she looks after a nephew with disabilities and an incredible 8 cats at home too!
When asked by an interview at LITE FM what she attributes her longevity to she said, "'I didn't find any secret to longevity. I just eat everything, laugh a lot and cry a lot."
