As we recover from the Demonetization drive in India, people are gradually gearing up to celebrate the first "Band Baja Baraat" season of 2017. While the excitement for many is about the buffet spreads and the exotic assortment of desserts that you tend to relish the most when you are at weddings, the others are thrilled to deck up in glamorous attires and be the eye candy of the occasion.
It's interesting how the "Digitization" has opened up more avenues when it comes to finding the perfect match for yourself. The dating sites, the matrimony sites and then the community engagement sites have helped us evolve from the traditional concept of arranged marriages that we so believed in as Indians. On the flip side, it has opened a Pandora box of apprehensions and fears!
Here, are a few questions almost every girl on the matrimony sites have on top of their mind when they consider a prospect!
IIs he real? Authentic?
What if he has put his best friend's picture as his profile pic? What if he turns out to be a haggard old man or is not as good looking as the picture he has put?
Well, if the picture is good and he is for real then the next fear to tackle is "how come he is on a matrimony site and not dating someone already?"
If he is smart and good to talk to, then maybe he is a charmer. He would speak like that to all the women whom he met on the site and may not commit to anyone!
Is he really serious about getting married to me? As the number of interaction goes up, the pressure of wanting to know where it is heading builds up so drastically that one misses out on the excitement and the objectivity aspect of getting to know each other.
He probably comes across as an interesting man… has a good family background and has his value systems in place, which is technically good because he might turn out to be a good husband material but what if he turns out to be an outgrown "Mumma's Boy"? Am I in for the same age old family hassles or would he be matured enough to be a good son and a good partner – without compromising on either front?
If one is lucky and all is good with the guy so far, she gets to the next daunting question – "Will he be good in bed?", Would he know how to pleasure me?, Would I be able to keep him happy sexually or would he go around straying or cheating on me?
Would he want to plan a family as soon as we get hitched or would he consider my commitment to my career goals… Wait a minute! Does he even want kids? Maybe he wants to lead a life of no responsibilities.
Let's say we are all sorted on all the above points, if I ever want to take a break from work, would he be okay taking care of the finances of the house or would I have to drag myself to work because he won't stand by me or our future children.
