India has one of the best armies in the world. Our soldiers have achieved victories in all theatres of wars since prehistoric times. They have never surrendered as their motto has always been "do or die." The troops selflessly fight for our security at the border day and night. Our protection is their priority. Many of them have sacrificed their life in fighting for their nation.
Recently, research has been done by Ministry of Home Affairs through the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad on "Occupational Stress in Central Armed Police Forces (BSF and CRPF)" to improvise their service conditions.

In order to ensure that Force personnel get adequate rest, Proper Rest and Relief Policy has been introduced and also, rational and fair leave policy has been implemented.
To ensure that Force Personnel remain in touch with their families and friends, provision of better communication facilities are provided especially at places of deployment, particularly in remote areas. Also, regular interaction between Commander and Jawans is being ensured to reduce the stress level.
Stress Management Capsule courses are regularly being conducted for the army to manage their stress level and also regular Yoga training to the CRPFs are given by qualified Yoga Instructors.
To provide basic amenities to the troops, adequate infrastructure on Border Out Posts are developed to improve their living conditions. Construction of roads, the introduction of electronic gadgets and floodlights to reduce the mental and physical stress of the troops to enhance operational efficiency.
To ensure the recreation of troops, regimental and community activities including Sports/Games are provided to all levels to ensure maximum participation and reduce stress.
Interaction with doctors and other specialists is organised so that CRPFs Jawans can discuss their personal/psychological concerns etc.
Other welfares include canteen facility to the troops and their families, scholarships to their wards, etc.
Transparency in the distribution of duties and responsibilities is ensured to prevent resentment and discontent amongst personnel.
