The world beneath our oceans is so untouched to mankind that even in 2017 we are continuously discovering new creatures we didn't know ever existed. Scientists have recently found a new whale species no one knew about when a corpse of a dead whale came ashore on a beach in Alaska. What adds to the mystery of this finding is the aberrant appearance of the creature proved an old Japanese legend true. Fishermen used to tell stories about mysterious rare whale species which they called "Karasu - The Raven".
From years the Japanese fishermen used to talk about the existence of this large mysterious creature dwelling under the sea.
The species is known to be so rare that there are only eight documented samples about the species. The only information available came from limited sources of DNA and the stories from the Japanese legend.
Nobody has ever seen this species alive. It was recently spotted by a biologist on a coast near Alaska, but that too was nothing but a corpse.
These 24 feet large animals have been living with us for centuries, but no one ever saw any of them. Surprising? Isn't it! No wonder, which bizarre creature comes to the shore next time.
It was mistakenly identified as a typical Baird's beaked whale when scientists first examined it on the shore. However, on a closer look, it was sure that they had found an entirely new species.
We have explored only five percent of the ocean till date. Incidents like these remind us of how vast these oceans are. There are thousands of species which are still undiscovered beneath these oceans.
