Akshay Kumar has played the role of real-life hero many times in the movies. Many of his blockbuster movies such as 'Airlift', 'Special 26' and 'Rustom' were based on true events.
Reports suggest that the Khiladi actor will play the role of a real-life hero in Twinkle Khanna's Maiden production. Read on for the full scoop.
Be it Rustom or Airlift, Khiladi actor has done full justice with his performance.
Twinkle's latest book 'The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad' narrates the tale of an extraordinary man Mr Arunachalam Muruganantham who invented the machine for making low-cost sanitary pads for rural women.
Muruganantham devised a frugal method to produce sanitary napkins that could be afforded by women in his village.
The man received a lot of criticism from his family and village. Later, the low-cost sanitary pads actually made a great difference in the lives of rural women.
While the concept is suggested by Twinkle, this inspiring film will be directed by R. Balki.
He will be playing the role of Balbir Singh, a former member of the Indian hockey team in sports biopic.
A source close to Twinkle Khanna explained, "It's the kind of film that will appeal to Twinkle's sensibilities. It will be directed by R. Balki and will star Akshay. The concept is hers, and will be developed by R. Balki."
The 42-year-old actress explained, "I was writing columns, now I've written two books. I don't know what I will write next. I have another job as well. I have an interior store and a candle factory. And between these three, I have enough on my plate. In fact, my plate is overflowing now."
Twinkle Khanna has done enough research on menstruation for one of her columns before coming up with this concept.
