Want to live on a planet other than the earth? NASA is investigating Jupiter for you. NASA, National Aeronautics and Space Administration is an independent agency of the federal US government. NASA does civilian as well as aerospace and aeronautics research. NASA is investigating possibilities for human life on Jupiter. We humans plan to invade the entire universe, from Mars to Jupiter, we are exploring all possibilities of life, away from earth. Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system and weighs about one-thousandth of the sun.
Out of the 67 known moons of Jupiter, NASA is currently exploring Europa for human life. Scientists look forward to research life on Jupiter, through its moon Europa. Read on to get further insights into NASA's mission.
Underwater drones are being used by scientists to study marine environments of the earth. Similarly, NASA is on the verge of developing an 'intelligent' underwater drone to study the conditions of the moon Europa. They believe that this will help them identify the possibilities of life on Jupiter.
Europa has comparatively smooth surface, due to the absence of mountains and craters. Moreover, Europa is also slightly smaller than the moon of the earth. In the solar system, Europa is the fifth-largest object.
...the signals are not able to penetrate the surface below the ocean. Thus, the need for advanced drones rises. This will be helpful in tracking life on the icy Europa.
These 'intelligent' drones can plot their own way. This can be done by detecting while being submerged. This can be a radical move on how scientists collect data.
To assist the research on Europa some scientists have used six uncoordinated drones to explore the Monterey Bay, California. They observed changes in the salinity and temperature of the bay. This research will plot the next route of the mission.
"Autonomous drones are important for ocean research, but today's drones don't make decisions on the fly. In order to study unpredictable ocean phenomena, we need to develop submersibles that can navigate and make decisions on their own, and in real-time. Doing so would help us understand our own oceans- and maybe those on other planets."
Metallic glass has the capacity to withstand extreme weather conditions. Thus, it will be convenient to investigate the chilly Europa. Metallic glass is metal but has glass-like atomic structure. It has a low melting point and can be easily blow-molded when subjected to heat. Moreover, gears made from metallic glass will not require lubricants even in low temperatures.
It will be great if NASA is successful in its mission, we will get to dwell on Jupiter in some years. Wow!
