I need you to imagine. Imagine yourself at the toilet, and suddenly a creature pops out of it! Freaky, right? The terror, which you have just imagined, is what this woman of San Diego experienced. Had she not been alert, the end of this story could have been drastically different, and extremely saddening.
Stephanie Lacsa, co-founder of Vertical PR and Marketing, noticed that the water level in the office toilet was a tad bit higher than usual. Thanks to her presence of mind, she decided to grab a plunger and get some work done.
All it took was a couple of plunges before the dread of her life popped out of the toilet. It was a 5 1/2 foot Colombian Rainbow Boa!
With the plunger still in hand, Lacsa rushed out of the bathroom at the top of her speed, screaming. She managed to trap the serpent in the bathroom, and in the meantime, called animal control. A response team was instantly dispatched, who reached the scene soon. It proved to be quite a challenge for the handlers too, as the snake managed to bite one of them. However, fortunately, the responding officers were able to move it out of the office before any more damage could be done and transferred it to an animal care facility.
Colombian Rainbow Boas are non-venomous snakes, and are indigenous to the Central and Southern American rain-forests. It still remains a mystery as to how the snake ended up stuck in the office toilet.
The officers say that they will hold on to the snake at the animal care facility until the end of the week. If no one claims it by then, then the Boa will be sent to an animal rescue home.
