Under the supervision of the Sisters of Mercy, the Riverside Hospital got inaugurated in 1883, as a home for unwed mothers in the Northern Toledo. Later, it became a part of Mercy Health Partners. In 2002, the hospital closed with the opening of a new hospital Mercy St. Anne. The hospital had around 270 beds at the time of its closure and was not deserted for some time thereafter.
In December 2014, some photographers went crazy and entered this abandoned hospital to capture some amazing pictures.
