There are certain features we wish we could have inherited from our grandmother and then there are some that leave us wondering what on earth caused them. From a sharp nose to a witty sense of humor, most of our characteristics and features are passed on to us from our parents or grandparents, effortlessly.
I have been proud of my dimples passed on to me by my dad and have enjoyed the jealousy of my friends at that, but this baby girl has just made me go "wow" and "aww" and green-eyed at the same time over her incredible streak of white hair. She, with her unique trait, has gone viral on the internet and is making the world go crazy over her monochrome hair.
Recommended Story: Most Rare And Bizarre Birthmarks
Meet MilliAnna, the little girl who was born with a streak of white hair over the forehead.
The girl looks even cuter after 18 months with the white fringes adding to her innocent beauty.
MilliAnna has inherited the white streaked hair look from her mother Brianna Worthy.
Brianna wished that her baby takes after her and inherits the birthmark. Her wish was answered beautifully. Brianna is beaming to see her girl blessed with the same signature streak of white hair.
Brianna and MilliAnna are not the only ones with the unique white streak on their head; the birthmark has been a signature trait of three generations of women in the family, with MilliAnna being the fourth generation to carry forward the trait. Brianna's mother and grandmother also share the same distinctive trait and MilliAnna has indisputably taken after them.
All Brianna and her mom know is that they have inherited it from Brianna's grandmother but the rare birthmark might be running from older generations. Brianna says,"We are unsure how far back the birthmark goes as my grandmother was adopted as a child and hasn't met her biological family."
The white streak of hair is a result of a rare genetic condition called poliosis. Poliosis causes a "lack of pigment in the patch of hair and the skin around it."
MilliAnna has some additional markings resulting from poliosis that can be seen on her knees but they definitely are her own signature patches, or as we like to term them "beauty spots". Poliosis has no treatment as of now and the condition isn't life threatening either.
Brianna was bullied as a child for the streak of white hair but she eventually learned to love it and endorses it proudly today. Her younger sister didn't inherit it and that was all the more reason for her to feel ecstatic when she saw her baby girl for the first time with her family's signature birthmark.
Brianna plans to raise her daughter in a way that she feels beautiful, loves her unique trait and doesn't pay heed to the mean comments passed on to her.
Don't you just love the dual-toned hair that amps up these women's personality? No dye, no artificial hair treatments, and a gorgeous hairstyle that most of the women would love to adorn themselves; we are (pleasantly) jealous! Did you find this beautiful?
