In a bid to her hope and her supporters' expectations as well, Hillary appeared in front of the US citizens once again. It was her concession speech which she gave on Nov 10, following the night on which the results of the elections were declared.
She came with her husband- Bill Clinton. But did you notice that both of them were wearing the same color? I am sure the gesture was not a signification of a lovely couple who wears the same colored clothes.
Like Hillary has always had some significance in her clothing, this time too it was reflecting something.
Hillary Clinton wore pantsuit with a purple shirt and a jacket sporting purple lapels.
The color purple is called suffragette purple by many people in the US and the UK.
Suffragette refers to the people who participated in the movements for equal rights of women. Also, purple is the color for anti-bullying movement in the LGBTQ communities.
These are the colors of the Suffragette flag.
It is the GENDERQUEER FLAG.
The genderqueer flag has three stripes in which:
Chartreuse green represents the people outside the gender binary as it is the inverse color to purple i.e. the combination of pink and blue.
White represents agenderness and gender neutrality.
Purple represents those whose genders are of, between, or a mix of male and female.
For the very reason of women and LGBTQ empowerment, not only Hillary but also Bill Clinton wore purple. Actually, he was wearing a purple tie.
It was because Clinton's opponent Donald Trump, who won, wouldn't wear this color to support women even by accident.
So, they both decided to wear it.
