No one better than an iPhone user knows what it means to own an Apple product. Apple products are one of their kind giving your lifestyle a touch of luxury. Whenever you are among a bunch of Apple geeks, you might find yourself wondering what they talk about all the time. Well, there are of course some stuff limited only to Apple product users.
Here is something most of the iPhone users are not aware of, 'The secret codes'.
You just need to dial #31# and your phone number. Now, no one would be able to identify if it's you calling.
It's a longer process than that of blocking caller ID requiring a longer code. Dialing *3001#12345#* will bring up a list of options. Ignoring the list of choices, just hold down the power button until the home screen reappears. Instead of bars or circles, you will have numbers on the top left. A number between the range of -4 to -80 indicates a strong signal, below that, is a bad signal. If you are down around -140, you have no signal.
You can easily find your phone's IMEI number in settings or just input #06# to bring it up on your screen.
You might not be aware of it, but text messages don't go directly from your phone to your recipient's phone. A particular phone number routes them wirelessly to a message center. To see your carrier's secret number, punch in *#5005*7672# and then hit the call button.
Call barring allows you to block both incoming and outgoing calls. You will have to pay for the service, but if you already do, enable it by entering *33*PIN#, or you can disable it by entering #33*PIN#.
Again, this is also a paid service. You can turn it ON or OFF and figure out whether it's done with a few codes. To find out the status of your call waiting, dial *#43#. To turn it ON, dial *43# and to turn it OFF, dial #43#.
To check if your forwarding calls are activated and where you are forwarding them to, enter *#21#.
Often people get annoyed when they keep calling you and you can't call them back. To check the number of missed calls, punch in, *#61#.
EFR stands for Enhanced Full Rate that improves voice quality for GSM services. To turn it on, dial *3370#.
All the secret codes summarised for you.
