Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, was detained by the authorities after he tried to unofficially meet the relatives of the late army veteran, RK Grewal. The army veteran had committed suicide due to insufficient pension issues.
Soon after his release, Arvind Kejriwal pointed fingers at Narendra Modi saying that he lied about the OROP implementation.
Kejriwal, along with Gopal Rai (Delhi Minister) was detained for nearly 5 hours. Deputy Cheif Minister, Manish Sisodia was detained for nearly 10 hours.
Vice President of Congress has also been detained previously when he attempted to meet with the family of the army veteran.
Son of RK Grewal, Jaswant Grewal, poisoned the lawns of the Delhi Government building.
Sources say, Grewal was promised increased pension but didn't receive any. He was promised pension under the government's One-Rank-One-Pension scheme.
PM Modi's failure to implement the One-Rank-One-Pension scheme has led to this problem. It states that an individual who retired years ago will receive the same pension as an individual at the same rank retiring now.
