The presence of a continuous source of power is inevitable in the present situation. However, there are still many villages in the our country India where the power source is a dream.
India consumes about 3.4% of the total global energy consumption thus making the nation one of the biggest consumers in the world. With its high population and heavy use of electricity, India always struggles with its power supply. The affected parts due to this situation are the remote villages where electricity is still non-existent.
In order to create the bubble of change in the situation and support the government power supply problem, a new start-up known has Avant Garde has come into existence. Their motto is to transform the energy blowing in winds into electricity for use.
The startup is the brainchild of two brothers who hail from God's own country Kerala. Siblings Arun and Anoop George designed such wind turbines that have the capability to generate 3-5 kW of electricity daily.
Athirappilly hydroelectric project in Kerala which aimed at solving power supply issues of the state came under heavy criticism from the environmentalists. It is said that this project will end up creating a grave ecological imbalance. However, the need for power supply is not something that can be neglected. Thus, the brothers came up with the idea of developing this clean energy at a reduced cost.
The company started in 2015 and since then has created an abundance of opportunities in the state of Kerala. They identify themselves as a 'green' startup with an aim to provide clean energy to the locals at a reduced cost.
Their pilot project was launched in the year 2016 at a church. With a small turbine prototype, they were able to produce enough electricity. Also, they explained that it has the capacity to produce more than 300 kW.
Presently in the market, one can find a small turbine for about 3 to 7 lakhs INR which has the capacity to produce 1kW energy. However, Avant Garde is planning to keep the price under 50 thousand INR. They are optimistic that when mass production comes into picture the product will become cheaper than the said price.
The Company aims at creating a reliable source to reduce energy crisis in India. Alongside, their desire is creating clean energy that helps in restoration of the environment. The best part is that they are aiming for the cleaner environment and stable power supply at such a cost that is affordable for the users. They want to initiate environmental, social, and economic change.
The company came out as one of the winners in the Top 20 Cleantech Innovations in India. Implementing its new-age ideas it has also secured a place in the list of 10 clean energy companies in India under the Sustainable Energy for All initiative by United Nations.
India is in such a stage where they are scouting every corner to provide consistent power supply and also green energy. In this situation, the works involving low-cost power supply really speeds up the growth.
So, instead of buying an iPhone, isn't it a better choice to own this wind turbine? You can book it HERE.
