This very week was a very different one for the Canadians, and for the remainder of us as well. At the event venue of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon stood an 85-year-old runner, all set to rock the 4-hour marathon.
Everyone was a bit skeptical about the 5'7" old guy, but when he started to run on the tracks, people were left shocked to their core.
Have a look at the complete story:
Long distance runner, Whitlock has several world records in his name. His world age group records include the half-marathon, 10,000m, 5,000m, and mile. With his latest set benchmark, he broke the previous men's 85+ record by about 40 minutes.
Whitlock works out on a regular basis and has no plans of taking rest from running.
15 FREAKIN' YEARS!
Well, he is indeed highly motivating.
5 minutes 36 seconds per kilometer. Impressive!
