The king of romance, Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan's career is in danger. As we say everything comes to an end one day and that includes the career of popular and well-established Bollywood celebs as well. Who would have thought that one day we will see Shah Rukh Khan taking his leave from Bollywood? It came as a shock to everyone and especially to all SRK fans.
SRK has given blockbuster hits and almost all his films hit the box office and earned crores. But now he is aging fastly, and it's quite evident that he is trying to act young in all his films. He is trying to act 20 years younger than his age, but even the best of technologies can't hide his age now. So what future his career holds? Everyone is thinking about this, and the answer is that he won't be lasting long now giving the flop, mindless films he is giving.
Shah Rukh's evergreen movie 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' lasted for 21 years for a record. After this film, he came up as a romantic hero. Before DDLJ he acted in movies like 'Darr', 'Anjaam' and 'Baazigar' as a villain and sported his role really well. SRK's versatility is known to everyone. He can sport all his roles well enough and still rock, but now he has reached from where he can't go on any further. Now he has only two options either to adopt the change or fall head first back to ground zero.
SRK has not only been the king of romance he also ruled Bollywood all alone at a time. He has been the first choice of directors like Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Rohit Shetty, and even Rajkumar Hirani. It is also said that Karan Johar used to cry sitting behind the monitor while SRK used to shoot in front of the camera. Awww!
Let's have a look at what is going to happen with SRK's career now.
DDLJ is the only movie which comes to our mind whenever we think about any romantic movie. After DDLJ, Shah Rukh Khan came up as a romantic hero. Before this, he played gray shades in various films. But be it, villain or hero, SRK has done it all well.
SRK was earlier known for his gray shades. He played the bad guy in films like 'Darr', 'Anjaam', and 'Baazigar'. He played it so well that it terrified everyone. 'I love you KKKKKK Kiran' became his USP line and even now he is asked to say this dialogue at least ones in every function.
Even in 'Anjaam' movie, he acted like a villain. This was the second movie after 'Darr' in which he acted as a villain. One more thing is that not many people know that earlier SRK was criticized for his voice. Given the way, he used to stutter while speaking. He was never the first choice of any director at that time. But now, every actor is dying to work with SRK. He has been giving some really unsuccessful films recently, and if this continues for long, then he will have to search for an alternative.
The reason for the downfall of this superstar will be his continuous efforts in looking younger in every film. In all his recent movies SRK is trying to look 20 years younger than his actual age, and this is not good. He is seen romancing younger girls like Deepika in 'Happy New Year' and Anushka Sharma in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'.
Amitabh also faced a severe downfall when he was making the same mistake. In his film 'Mrityudaata' he was trying to act 20 years younger and that caused his downfall. But Amitabh was smart enough to understand that he is aging and he will have to accept it one day or the other. And now after accepting his age, he is rocking in Bollywood and has given some really good films like 'Sarkar', 'Paa', and much more.
SRK should accept that he no more looks younger and should proudly accept his age. His failed attempts at trying to look younger should come to an end now.
We have enough of his mindless films. SRK have millions of fans all over the world, but even they don't go for mindless films. SRK's 'Chak De! India' was a total rock on but films like 'Happy New Year', 'Dilwale' and 'Chennai Express' has no place in the list of intelligent cinema which is trending nowadays.
No doubt that the remake of Amitabh Bachchan's 'Don' and 'Devdas' did well in SRK's career. But unfortunately 'Don 2' failed in making the similar impression in audience's minds. Leading to the continuous postponing of 'Don 3'.
Even though Don series earned a lot at the box office but isn't counted among the films which we can watch repetitively. And now no SRK fan is looking forward to 'Don 3' and maybe that's why the shooting of this film is getting postponed again and again. But what is still hidden is the fact that the script of next 'Don' movie isn't yet prepared. Maybe somewhere the directors and producers have the idea on what is going on audience's mind.
The box office collection of Khan trilogy will leave you shocked, but it is a very expected one. SRK will definitely find his name missing in the top five films which earned maximum in the last few years. The first movie is 'PK' (Rs. 735 crores), 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' (Rs. 626 crores), 'Baahubali: The Beginning' (Rs. 600 crores), 'Dhoom 3' earned Rs. 536 crores and at the end 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' (Rs. 431 crores). So where is SRK in this list?
Unlike Shah Rukh, Salman soon realized what his core competency was and then worked on that way. He soon outweighed his misses and is moving forward to become the boss of the single screens.
Aamir Khan's first all-time blockbuster film was 'Ghajini' in the year 2008. After this film, he has been working extremely hard to better his performance and then gave a blasting performance in '3 Idiots' and the surpassed that in 'Dhoom 3'. Finally, he completed his hat-trick with his last film 'PK'. The inside story is that Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra first approached SRK for '3 Idiots'.
Everyone is asking one question that is "What the hell was Rohit Shetty thinking while making 'Dilwale'?" People call 'Dilwale' as one of the biggest disasters in the history of Bollywood. The movie had a worldwide gross of Rs. 300 crores but it's still named the disastrous movie of all times. All the distributors of the film lost Rs. 50 to 60 crores and that itself says a lot.
Now, what else is left to say? This is one of many instances of how 'Dilwale' was badly trolled on social media. People also started posting on Twitter that the film distributors will have a heart attack and the newbies will be having their life savings wiped out. One multiplex claimed that they only sold two tickets in a day. Some posted screenshots of empty cinema halls. And the ultimate insult was when the rival movie 'Bajirao Mastani' was declared a Blockbuster hit. Well, this is how the Bollywood business works.
This was the saddest part of 'Dilwale'. The film was made with the thought that Kajol-SRK Jodi will be recreated and the magic will definitely pass the movie in box office examination, but unfortunately, it didn't work out well. The duo worked together in films like 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Karan-Arjun', 'Baazigar', and the best of them all 'DDLJ'.
As if his mindless films weren't enough, SRK has also started getting into troubles now. Earlier, SRK used to stay away from any kind of controversies, but now it seems like he has taken a liking towards controversies. He is getting involved in controversies one after the other, and the long list of controversies is like this: Wankhede Stadium brawl, the Shirish Kunder slap, the Farah Khan split, airport checks, link-ups, and alleged affair with Priyanka Chopra. All this gave some spice to paparazzi's but made a major loss to SRK's image.
And now the next upcoming film which is definitely awaited is 'Raees'. Let's see whether SRK's next film 'Raees' will be creating some magic in the box office or not.
