If you are worried about being stuck in traffic jams while driving yourself in this festive season; worry not, as Google is there to rescue.
Google is now rolling out the feature to its search results. The search engine giant has announced that commuters would now be able to book cabs from Ola and Uber, straight from the Google search application or the mobile search browser.
Let's understand how!
This is because Google has teamed up with Ola and Uber (only) to make cab booking, even more, hassle free.
With this integration, users across the country can ask Google for directions and book ride services right from the Google Search.
"With this, users will be able to order, explore and make quick comparisons about the best-estimated taxi fare directly from Google search results on their mobile," Saket Gupta, Programme Manager, Google.
Open Google Search app on your Android phone. This can also be done by activating Google Now through a long-press of the home button.
On request for specific information like "Cab to Banglore airport," the app/browser directs the user to select a service or automatically opens the app to book the ride.
For instance, the search will support "Ola for Mumbai Central Station."
Google will fetch the trip estimate and other details without actually opening up the app along with the nearby location of the cab on the map.
As yet, have you used 'Google Maps' to book a trip, or is the first impulse to fire the Uber or Ola app and book one?
Do you think the Google Search Integration will change the performance?
