The mother's love is the only one unconditional stroke that sets up a firm foundation of emotional intimacy in a toddler's life. And this motherly love and affection made Karisa Bugal, a mother to take an unpredictable and a hard decision for her unborn son.
Karisa was supposed to undergo C-section in the same routine manner until her procedure took a terrifying turn. Read on to know further.
Karisa Bugal was spotted to have a rare condition that is considered to occur one in 1,00,000 deliveries.
In this ailment, the fluid surrounding the baby mixes with the mother's blood resulting into shutting down of all organs. Many mothers suffering from this do not manage to survive.
She noticed that unborn baby's heart rate was beginning to dip. Its life was at risk too.
She had two options, either to choose caesarean with anesthesia that could save the baby and kill her or a caesarean that could save her and kill the baby.
...Karisa asked how much her baby Declan weighed. Sadly, those were the last words of her.
She made a sacrifice to save her baby's life, and yes, the baby boy survived.
"How do I explain to him that his mom is gone just after giving birth to him? I think about that all the time," said her husband, Wes Bugal. "How do I explain when he asks 'Where's Mommy?'"
Hope her son, Declan realizes one day that his mother is a real champion.
