Dad, I Don't Want To Be An Engineer!

I was always told to win even if the race was not of my choice.

~Voice of an ordinary guy.

I started to understand the meaning of a 'race' even when my existence was under the shadow of a big question mark(?). Which sperm will win the race? The first thing which arises after administering a hot beef injection. You know what I mean, right?

The 'race' between human sperm to the eggs is even faster than a 100-meter race. Fortunately, I ran like Bolt and won the race among 250 million sperm cells. Yes, you heard it right 250 million. After all, I was the cleverest sperm between them. Aww! My poor two hundred forty-nine million nine hundred ninety-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine brothers. I feel sorry for you. But, it's not my fault. I was always taught that life is like a race and if you don't run fast, you'll be like a broken egg which has no life.

This is how the race starts and continues to affect our life.

Freedom of choice and decision making.

Freedom of choice and decision making.

There have been 7.4 billion people to walk the planet up until the present. The problem isn't that life is unfair, but the freedom is still caged. Everyone talks about 'Freedom of speech and expression' but no one takes courage to speak in the context of 'Freedom of choice and decision making.' After all, it will start raising the question to one's own blood, and no one on Earth can handle that.

Some parents want to live through their kids.

Some parents want to live through their kids.

Some parents want to fulfill their unfulfilled ambitions through their children. But, is it right to do so? Living the life of someone's desires by compromising your dream is like eating a hot iron rod with a smile. At last, you will only remain with one option, and that is 'pain.'

Always follow your inner voice.

Always follow your inner voice.

Always follow your inner voice. Have the courage to go where your heart leads you. Don't allow anyone to take control over your life, forcing you along a path. Your decision may be good or bad. Things may become a bit worse even than before. But remember even in the most troublesome surroundings, the grateful heart finds peace. A Son's open letter to his father which will change the parent's perception regarding their children education.

Dear Dad,

Dear Dad,

There are so many things I'd like to tell you face to face, but I don't have such courage to do so. I love you, Dad! With your guidance and support, this little toddler had become more mature than before. I lack the words not because of fear but because of respect. You're always my best mentor. An idol who taught me how to be a gentleman.

Many times I argued with you not because I'm right but because I'm unable to believe myself as 'wrong.' Even, I'm entirely wrong at that point in time. I sincerely apologize, Dad! I'm sorry...

I may not have been the perfect son!

I may not have been the perfect son!

I may not be the perfect son, but I'm doing the best I can. I always disappoint you by my numbers. But you always encouraged me by your words. I still remember that punchy lines of yours "Son, the word impossible is not in my dictionary." Dad, I too started using it with time.

You're my Steve Jobs, and I'm your apple. Each and every day you're making me a better person.

You're my Steve Jobs, and I'm your apple. Each and every day you're making me a better person.

You are God's best gift to me, Dad.

You are God's best gift to me, Dad.

I still remember the memories of my childhood days when we're going through the tough times of our lives, and still, you managed to make our home a happy place.

With all due respect and love, Dad I want to talk to you regarding my career. For once in your life, I'm requesting you please just listen to me. Please!

Dad, I don't want to be an engineer.

Dad, I don't want to be an engineer.

Dad, I don't want to be an engineer. I never wanted to be.

Fish is meant to swim not to fly. Similarly, I love to write rather than solving equations right. I'm caged in a prison of your choice. I don't want to be an engineer 'This is my inner voice.'

I may end up being a beggar because of my choice, but I can't become a millionaire.

I write not to earn high, but it gives me a kind of peace and satisfaction which is beyond everyone's eye.

I don't have wings, but I will fly.

I don't have wings, but I will fly.

I don't have wings, but I will fly. I don't want to be an engineer. This is my choice.

I don't want to disappoint you again, but believe me, I can play better with words rather than screw drives.

I may not live a lavish life, but again I don't regret if it's my choice.

The Moon will set again and then the Sun will again rise.

I may fall 10 times, but I will stand up again and rise.

I'm not among them, and I can only be thankful to you both.

I'm not among them, and I can only be thankful to you both.

Your son may be not the reason for your pride, but your son will be a good human being till the end of his life.

I request you, please don't force me to become an engineer of your choice.

You're my dad, not Hitler who did Holocaust genocide.

Dad, I beg you to give me back my 'freedom of choice.'

Dad, I don't want to be an engineer.

Dad, I don't...

Dad, I don't...
