I was just wandering around the streets of Marine Drive when I met Chotu, a little boy who was selling radium bands by the roadside. I saw a beam of happiness on his face when I was purchasing the band. I asked him the cost of the bands to which he answered, "Rs 10 each". I purchased all the bands from him, and I saw him gleaming with happiness. He was on cloud nine seeing all his bands were sold out. Out of joy, he told me that he wanted to make a garland of all the bands for me. He made the wreath and put that in my neck and with all his innocence he asked if he could just hold my mobile. I was so much humbled that without giving it a second thought, I handed my mobile over to him. His face was radiating happiness, just because he was done for the day, he was not worried that still, he has to sell all those bands. Although it's not his fault that a child like him is selling bands at this point. And it is not just chotu; there are many more such kids who are striving hard for necessities. We can play our part wonderfully, just to bring the smile on their face. Lastly, I asked him if he would like to get a selfie with me, and he was thrilled with joy. It was an amazing experience, indeed real. Spread happiness; it feels Good.
I'll miss him.
