M.S. Dhoni was the most anticipated movie of the year 2016. Right from the beginning, when the news of the making of a film on India's most loved skipper's life surfaced, the audience eagerly waited for its release.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was speculated to be one of those cricketers, who is admired by both followers and non-followers of the game Cricket. These speculations went right, when the entire audience of India, thronged the theatres on 30th September. Since its release, the movie has minted around ₹ 60 crores and is soon to enter ₹100 crores club.
It was great to watch the life journey of Indian Cricket Team's successful captain. The struggles he faced, the hurdles he crossed on his way is the topic that has dominated the discussions from the last few days. We bet that Captain Cool has acquired each mind across the nation.
Despite being a flawless biopic of all time, 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story' has left a stone unturned, that is the absence of Dhoni's elder brother in the movie. One thought that is bothering our minds is, why did Dhoni prefer not to feature his elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni in his biopic.
In the movie 'M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story', which showed Sushant Singh Rajput in the role of Dhoni, has featured each and every person from Dhoni's personal as well as professional front, who played a pivot role in Captain Cool's success.
It was interesting to watch the endless efforts Dhoni made to make his way to International Cricket. It was inspiring to know about, how Mahendra Singh Dhoni handled his failures, to climb the stairs to victory.
Tears rolled down the cheeks, to know about the pain Dhoni suffered when his then girlfriend Priyanka Jha encountered death. But it was again so electrifying to watch Captain Cool, stand still even in such adversities.
It left us emotional to watch the strong bond of friendship that Dhoni and his friends shared. Dhoni and his friends gave us some serious friendship lesson.
It was soothing to watch, Dhoni falls and rises in Love with Sakshi. Did you get some relationship goals? We guess so.
Last but not the least, Dhoni's family. It was an immense pleasure to watch his father, mother, and sister on the silver screen. Dhoni is a Hero of India and will always be, but getting introduced to the people who helped him become a hero was equally interesting. The way Dhoni's parents backed him in every move of life, made them worth worship in his life.
Dhoni's sister, Jayanti, was a beacon of light in his life. She was a friend, guide and philosopher. But this wasn't it because this is not Dhoni's complete family. Yes, you read that right. Except Dhoni's father Pan Singh, his mother Devika Dhoni, and sister Jayanti, there is still a person who completes this skippers life, but surprisingly this man wasn't a part of his biopic.
Dhoni is not his Parents' second child. Apart from elder sister Jayanti, Dhoni also has a brother, Narendra Singh Dhoni, who is ten years older to him.
It was a shocking fact that Narendra was not even approached to become a part of 'M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story'.
Recently when media tried to get in touch with Narendra, he openly stated, "He said that he was not around much when Dhoni was growing up and has played little part in his childhood except for watching some of the most important matches featuring his younger brother. "It must have been the filmmaker's choice. What can I say?", said Narendra in an interview with The Telegraph. "I may be non-existent in the movie because I don't have much contribution in Mahi's life – be it during his childhood, his struggle as a young man or after he became MSD for the world. The film is about Mahi, not his family," he further added. (Source: CricketCountry.com)
He continued saying "I am 10 years older to him. By the time, he picked up the bat for the first time, I was out of JVM-Shyamali and had also been away from home since 1991. I was in Almora at Kumon (University) where I completed my higher studies before returning to Ranchi. Although I may have moral contributions in Mahi's life, showcasing it would have been very difficult in the film."
He happily confessed that today he is proud of Dhoni and feels blessed to be a part of his life.
