Every weight loss journey involves a lot of struggle, and everyone's journey is different. Successful weight loss takes programming, not will power. Reaching your weight loss goal is not all rainbows, the side effects can also include an excess of loose skin. Losing a lot of weight requires plenty of hard work and is not as easy as the before and after photographs look like.
Recently, Rachel Graham, who is the mom-of-two children and lost 90-pounds, revealed what real weight loss might look like. A year ago, she started documenting her weight loss journey on her blog which is named as 'Losing Gravity'. Her transformation pictures which she displayed on her Instagram account are both motivating and emotional.
Check out her incredible journey and read her inspiring words:
Rachel Graham posed for the pictures wearing a sports bra and displaying her loose skin from the front and the side. She is not at all ashamed of her body and wrote a candid message about self-love and her new skin. She also tells that the photographs were taken a minute after addressing all the questions regarding her weight loss.
She says that she wanted to be honest about every part of this journey including the good and the bad, all the aspects of how it really feels to loose so much of weight. "I find that sometimes it's easy to pick which photos I like the most of myself and add them online – but there's more to my journey than just posed pictures at the best angles. I want to keep it 'real' to those following my journey, and my excess skin is my reality", she adds.
She explains that her stomach has gone through too much which includes two pregnancies and a 100-pound weight gain, so loose skin is bound to happen. But she says that you really don't have to worry about that part. "Will you have loose skin after losing weight? I can't answer that for you; everybody is different," she writes. "Will it be worth it, regardless? YES."
She took an initiative to talk about excess skin openly and positively which is really great. Her post motivated many people and her fans even started sharing their own experiences.
She began her fitness journey after having two children. Her hard work and will power totally paid off!
People really appreciated her, and one of the commenters wrote, "I just found your account and think it's great! Loose skin has been my biggest worry as I go through my journey. I've lost over 230 lbs and have 100+ to go. I very seldom see posts talking about loose skin. I avoid it myself ... But I think in order to learn to accept that it's there and a part of me, I have to start facing it. Thank you so much for posting this!! I needed to hear it and to start dealing with it."
Rachel plans to have surgery to get rid of her extra skin but now she is just focused on self-love.
