I come from a big family, not in terms of money, but reputation and grew up in a protective mountain environment…My father slapped me for the first time at 15 and I told him, 'If you slap me I will slap you back'. Kangana doesn't promote the use of fairness creams and will never even endorse such products. She feels you are a god's child. So love yourself the way he created you.
While refusing to work as a brand ambassador of the fairness product, she said, "Ever since I was a kid, I have never understood the concept of fairness. Especially, in such a case, as a celebrity, what kind of an example would I be setting for younger people? I have no regrets about turning this offer down. As a public figure, I have responsibilities. My sister is dusky, yet beautiful. If I go ahead and be a part of this campaign, then, in a way, I would be insulting her. If I can't do that to my sister, then now can I do it to the entire nation? (Source: missmalini.com)
Kangana's journey in Bollywood was never a child's play. She travelled through ups and downs, faced humiliation and it was all blood, sweat, and pain to achieve success.
She says, "When I started out, I was treated like a dog. People in the industry treated me like I didn't deserve to be spoken to and I was some unwanted object. I couldn't speak English fluently and people made fun of me for that. So dealing with rejection became a part of life. I may have had hits, but till date I've never worked with a Shah Rukh Khan or an Akshay Kumar, or Aamir or Salman. I have made my career out of leftovers and rejects of other actresses. All that has taken a toll, I guess. I find it hard to deal with praise. Today, when people say that I have made it and made it on my own, I feel like locking up myself somewhere. It scares me." Kangana is probably the only actress, who doesn't shy away from taking jibe on her contemporaries. She has always been supportive of women in the industry but hates when she gets nothing in return for the friendship and loves she shows towards them.

She went on saying, "There was a lot of feminist pressure on me to fight, to reveal my sob story to the world, but I didn't have any, I was in a consensual equation with an individual and I was felt perfectly capable of dealing with the stuff that was coming my way as an adult but I was pressurized to a point where I was questioning what exactly is feminism we're talking about?"
Taking a dig at Hrithik Roshan, who bluntly denied his love affair with her. On this matter, Kangana said, "Is it is essential for us to save the memories of our love affairs whether they're sperm stained panties or gifts that were given to us by a lover as potential evidence for a future when he's trying to escape or say no? If that is feminism, then I'm not a feminist. If it's feminism to not allow a prerogative of a man saying no and if it's a prerogative of just a woman to say no, then I'm not a feminist, a no means a no. If any individual wants nothing to do with me and feels ashamed of me or wants to get rid of me, the only thing I'm going to do for that individual is bid him goodbye".
