While pink and red colours dominate a girl's wardrobe, patience and endurance rule her personality. Well, let's accept that life isn't easy for a girl and continues to challenge her at every little step if you know what I mean!
However, being a girl has its own merits, and I can already visualise the gleeful smiles of all the pretty women reading this. While you have already started recollecting or imagining the instances that have or will add to your beautiful life, here we would like to pen down some of the most memorable moments of Meera's life that she – like every other girl - cherishes till date.
Meera, a 40-year-old full-time mum, shares the most special moments of her life with her favourite hairstylist while the latter is busy covering up Meera's greys that shine through her parted hair.
Meera recalls how her dad would turn the world upside down if he saw tears in her eyes. After all, girls are and will always be daddy's li'l girl, no matter how old they grow.
Meera bid goodbye to her 12th year and it was a special moment indeed! No more hitting or public rants and insults by parents. A mini achievement in itself….
Oh yeah, that was the time Meera got the licence to intrepidly wear all of those dresses and heels she always drooled over and tried them on while mommy was away.
Waxing, pedicures, manicures, nail art, facial, hair spa... what a bliss! And the best part was the compliments that followed. She deliberately skips the pain she went through while getting her eyebrows plucked and legs waxed.
This was quite a proud moment as Meera got to experiment with her fashion taste and dress up like the diva she always wanted to be.
Meera recollects how she first stepped into the kitchen to prepare chicken soup that she learnt from her mum, and was showered with kisses and hugs from everyone in the family for her first successful tête-à-tête with those terrifying kitchen utensils and gas burners.
No girl can forget her first proposal ever! Meera's first proposal was from an ordinary looking guy from her class. Even if it was not from the Prince Charming, it is something that did boost her confidence and officially marked her entry in the dating arena.
And her cheeks still blush…her stomach still churns recollecting that moment when she had found the man of her dreams.
Her eyes suddenly get a naughty spark that complements her blushed look. Then, she had her first sexual encounter; it was painful, exciting, thrilling and she enjoyed it thoroughly! No, you ain't getting any further details…

That proud moment when Meera brought home her first job letter and was congratulated with moist eyes, happy smiles and warm hugs; "special moment" got extra special!
When a woman is happy, she shops. When a woman is upset, she shops. When a woman is mad, take her shopping and you can escape her anger. Well, Meera was happy and she shopped till it was the closing time for shops…and then she had to request the cab driver to help her load the dozen packets in the car while she removed her heels to caress her aching feet.
From being "daddy's li'l princess" to a queen in the making, she moved a notch higher instantly! This is one of the most memorable days in every girl's life!

Those painful hours of being in labour, suddenly transformed into the most wonderful and soothing moments instantly when she saw her baby for the very first time. Blissful, serene and overwhelming!
Before Meera could get over her nostalgia, her hairstylist softly held her hand and added that she can relate to all the happiness that Meera has collected over her years and will soon be able to understand what it feels to be a mother, now that she herself is in the second trimester.
To all the Meeras out there reading this, isn't it just superb being a girl?! Three cheers to those selfies, makeup and concealer, pouts and poufs that make life a little more beautiful for us, even on a dull day (minus the PMS…aaarghh).
