The biggest conman of India till date!
Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava or famously known as Mr. Natwarlal was one of the biggest conmen of India. He sold the greatest historical monument of India, Taj-Mahal, more than three times. Not just this, but he also sold the Parliament of India with its 545 sitting members!
A lawyer, when turned into conman, can become deadly for the nation. He made the fraud look like an art of stealing and selling, and many institutes use him as an example, for their students, to teach them how to sell almost anything on earth.
Mr. Natwarlal is so famous in his town that people from his village decided to erect his statue. If this is done, then it will be one of his kind of sculpture.
No jail in the world has been able to keep him inside for more than months. He not only mastered the art of selling the national heritages but also escaped every prison in the country. Last time when he managed to get away from the police was at the Kanpur railway station, and he was 84 years old at that time.
He was a pro at creating a replica signature. He duped the signatures of industrialists like Ratan Tata, Birla, and Ambanis.
The man not only forged the signatures of the president of India but also used them to sell the national heritage. There was a time when the conman Natwarlal was more famous in Bihar then our president Rajendra Prasad.
Mithilesh Kumar Shrivastava sentenced to lifetime imprisonment and was put in jail for more than eight times, but no jail could keep him inside for more than a few months.
He sold Taj Mahal thrice, Parliament with its sitting 545 members twice, and even sold Rashtrapati Bhavan to foreign tourists by posing as a government official. It was one of his kind of new fraud that no one has done before.
There's no proof and shreds of evidence available of his death. His lawyer asked the police to drop more than 100 pending cases against him and claimed that he died in the year 2009. While, Natwarlal's brother claims that he buried Natwarlal in the year 1996, in Ranchi.
Lived like a legend and died like one, there's no proof available of his death so far. Natwarlal left behind his daughter, who is married to an army officer in Ranchi.
Many conmen of India have said that they got inspired from Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava. They decided to turn into conman because of him only. People from his village in Bihar take pride that fraudster Natwarlal belongs to this place.
Not only in real life but reel life also. Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan played Mr. Natwarlal in a movie. And recently, Emraan Hashmi portrayed character inspired from Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava in his film called Raja Natwarlal.
No doubt that his name is always there whenever we debate on frauds, and art of stealing and selling. He is not great by his deeds, but his art.
