Sergio was exploring the area for his movie on paranormal activities when he encountered 'The Eye' island in Argentina.
The Eye appears as a round piece of land completely surrounded by water on Google Earth.
Sergio and his team members got so fascinated with this island that they decided to cancel their original film project.
He explained: "When locating this reference in the map we discovered something unexpected that left the film project in the background, we call it 'The Eye.' The Eye is a circle of land surrounded by a thin channel of water with a diameter of 130 yards. Both circles [the water and land] are so perfect that it is hard to believe that this is a natural formation."
Sergio took help of Richard Petroni, a hydraulic and civil engineer from New York and a tech expert Pablo Suarez for exploring this island.
The campaign has received support of 139 people and has raised $9,438 till now. They need to raise $50,000 within a month.
They will also get access to all the white papers of the research and details of the investigation.
Pablo Suarez, tech expert at Boston University explained, "I never witnessed something like this before. The Eye is almost a perfect circle which makes it unlikely to be a simple crater or a formation created by a natural phenomenon."
