We all are well aware of the bad press for Coca-Cola that is all over the internet. It's an undeniable fact that Coke is very pernicious for our health. Well, people are free to choose things that please them, but the point is that a product like Coke which can be substituted by many healthy drinks should not even be on the market.
Read on to the story to know what happens to the body after drinking a can of coke.
Almost all the packaged food that we consume today, especially soft drinks contain sugar or high fructose corn syrup and we are well aware that excess sugar is not good for health.
In the United States, sugar is the highest source of calorie. It is the form of High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS). It is consumed by many people who often overlook its deleterious health impacts.
Well, the majority of the people are aware that sugar is responsible for obesity, diabetes, and heart diseases. But did you know that sugar lowers your IQ and makes you stupid? Yes, according to the research conducted by Dr. Mercola, he has discussed many harmful effects of sugar on the brain.
First 10 minutes: Hits your system
20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes
40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete
45 minutes: Same as heroin, it stimulates the pleasure centers of the brain.
60 minutes: Zinc, magnesium and calcium present in the lower intestine further boost in the metabolism.
>60 minutes: the role of caffeine comes into play; it makes you pee.
As the rave inside of you dies, you'll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You've also by now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in the Coke. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like having the ability to hydrate your system or build strong bones and teeth.
According to several studies, sugar is as addictive as heroin and somebody just can't easily walk away from it. Just after the consumption of sugar, your brain lights up and becomes active; its effect is similar to that of cocaine and heroin.
"You end up with one of the great health epidemics of all time."
– Dr. David Kessler, former FDA commissioner (source)
This world is packed with many noxious substances that we consume almost every day, knowingly or unknowingly. It's hard to believe that these addictive substances (like coke) are promoted without even knowing its side effects like sickness, obesity, and lowered cognitive function.
This makes me wonder how can any mortal promote any toxic substance that can kill us?
