Madhur Bhandarkar is a film director, script writer, and producer. His directorial debut was with Trishakti and went on to direct several critically and commercially successful films. The drama film Chandni Bar (2001), won the National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues. He has also received the National Film Awards for the Best Feature Film and Best Director for Page 3 (2005) and Traffic Signal (2007) respectively. The drama film Fashion (2008) garnered him with several accolades including Filmfare Awards nominations for Best Director and Best Screenplay.
In 2016, Bhandarkar was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award, by the Government of India. He is the youngest Indian filmmaker to receive the Padma Shri.
Nagesh Kukunoor is a film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. He is notable for his work in parallel cinema, such as Hyderabad Blues (1998), Rockford (1999), Iqbal (2005), Dor (2006), Aashayein (2010), Lakshmi (2014), and Dhanak (2016). Kukunoor has received seven International Awards, and the National Film Award .He has won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues, for directing Iqbal, in 2006.
Sriram Raghavan is an Indian film director and screenwriter. He produced a remarkable 45-minute docufiction on Indian serial killer Raman Raghav and a feature film Ek Hasina Thi (2004) produced by Ram Gopal Varma, starring Urmila Matondkar and Saif Ali Khan. His second feature film was Johnny Gaddar (2007). His latest film Badlapur (2015) received notable commendation and was commercially successful.
Vetrimaaran is a film director, screenwriter, and film producer. He works in the Tamil film industry. He has won four National Film Awards and one Filmfare Award in 2016. His directorial debut was in the critically acclaimed Polladhavan (2007). His second feature film Aadukalam (2011) achieved sixNational Film Awards. He produces films under his production company, Grass Root Film Company.
