A few years ago, Cleveland was supposed to be the hub of rock and roll. Many famous bands would make their way into the city to play and jam at some incredible theatres. One such place was the Variety Theatre which was famous for bands like Metallica, Motorhead and R.E.M.
Today, even in a dilapidated condition, this place still manage to bring out the spirit of rock and roll music. Photographer, Matthew Christopher, managed to take a few snaps of these theatres to remind us of the glory days of rock music.
It used to be the party hub during rock concerts back in the days.
It was designed by an architect by the name of Nicola Petti.
This theatre would build for plays but eventually, it was reduced to a stingy and dungy place for music concerts.
There are many people who would love to see Variety in its former glory, but we never know when the project will start.
It could be broken down entirely to construct something new.
