This 7-Year-Old Boy Is Turning Into A 'Human Tree' Due To A Painful And Rare Condition

Ripon Sarker is suffering from an extremely rare condition that makes his hands and feet like they are turning into trees. The 7-year-old suffers from 'Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis',  a rare condition in which scaly warts cover his body. Ripon Sarker, who basically belongs to Thakurgaon, Bangladesh was admitted to the hospital for the first time this month only since his family couldn't afford the expensive skin treatment.

The tree-like features are extremely painful for the poor lad since he cannot walk or eat properly. But the doctors are hopeful the treatment will be in their favor, and poor Ripon will be able to live his life like a common child.

Ripon's father Mahendra Das told the press, "Physicians say they will look into this matter before treatment."

But Ripon isn't the first person from Bangladesh to suffer from 'Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis'.

The 26-year-old dubbed as the 'Tree Man' was recently treated at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

"We are hopeful about the child's situation."

Samanta Lal Sen, the Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit coordinator of the hospital has high hopes for Ripon's case. He says, "In Abul's case, we couldn't distinguish warts from his fingers. Ripon's warts have not expanded to that extent yet. He can identify his fingers and toes. We might be able to treat him with fewer operations."

Ripon has been suffering from the condition since he was 3 months old.

We hope the little boy has a healthy and fast recovery.

"We need to give him proper nutrition before the operations begin."

The 7-year-old is malnourished due to poverty, and this has hampered his health as well. The physician says that Ripon might need blood as well.
