The LeEco group has many businesses, spanning from internet TV, production of videos and distribution, smart gadgets, and large screen applications to eco-agriculture, e-commerce, and Internet-linked electric cars.
LeEco wants the world to know that it is not just about Tv's and smartphones. LeEco earlier announced it's investment in Faraday Future and Aston Martin. The electric car launched by LeEco is just a prototype model for the press. Whereas Tesla has been delivering electric cars since 2008.
The vehicle was drawn out of a container from one end of the stage and later the CEO did a live demo of its self-driving and self-parking capabilities. Who wouldn't want a car which would park itself? Although it was moving at a low speed due to the limited space.
It is more of a concept car at the moment but it is a strong start I must say.
The car has conventional front doors and the rear suicide doors and somehow the back seats of the car can adapt to the shape and size of the passenger bodies. This has never been done before and we hope to see more added values in the next edition of the car.
There are touch screens behind the front seats which will be taking advantage of LeEco's rich video entertainment. The CEO added that the car will also do face recognition and self-learning but we will have to wait for the future demos.
LeEco has a vision of its future LeSEE cars to form a fleet of autonomous taxis and their front lights will indicate their availability by using various colours.
According to LeEco, the first LeSEE car will make its proper debut at the Beijing auto show on April 24th and if there is any new information on the vehicle we'll keep you updated.
