The Festival of Lights! At Lyon, this amazing festival is celebrated as a mark of great tradition. About 160 years ago, a golden statue of Mother Marry was installed atop Fourvière Hill as a homage to the plague that was troubling the city for so long had miraculous vanished.
Due to stormy weather that day, all the merriment and celebrations were abandoned. But, people expressed gratitude by lighting candles at their houses. Since then, this festival is celebrated with love all over the world.
