Casey noticed the homeless man and he was searching for any change he could get. She also watched him enter the restaurant in the hope of getting something to eat. That's when the stranger started approaching Casey.
Casey shared the story of her and the stranger on her Facebook and it has gone viral with more than 1,20,000 shares. Casey recalls that he probably had $1 in change and so she bought him a coffee and bagel and asked him to sit with her.
As the stranger, Chris sat with Casey and had breakfast, he talked about things he had not shared with anyone in a very long time. He told her how he never got to see his dad and how he lost his mother to cancer. He also talked about how he turned homeless before turning to drugs and how he lived on streets.
As Casey sat there patiently listening to the man, they had eaten plenty and had talked for hours. Casey remembered that she had to go back and as she got up to leave Chris asked her to wait so that he could write something down for her. Chris gave her a crumpled paper and apologized for having a shaky handwriting.
Casey opened the note and it had the following thing written on it.
"I wanted to kill myself today, but because of you now I don't want to. Thank you, beautiful person".
Casey proved that there are good people in the world and humanity is the greatest gift we embrace.
