The 23-year-old twin sisters Tashi and Nungshi Malik from Dehradun created a history on 16th December 2014 by becoming the first siblings ever to conquer seven tallest peaks in seven continents. The sisters had begun their joint expedition in 2012 successfully reaching the top of Mt Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mt Everest (Asia), Mt Elbrus (Europe), Mt Aconcagua (South America), Mt Carstensz Pyramid (Oceania), Mt McKinley (North America) and finally Mt Vinson Massif (Antarctica). They hold the record for being the world's first twin sisters to summit Mt Everest on May 19, 2013.
They were invited and felicitated by The Honorable President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee on 14 Nov on the auspicious occasion of children's day. He blessed them to continue their fearless adventures and explorations to become role models for the millions of girls in India who have similar dreams but lack social support or motivation.
