The officials noted that Arturo was already too old and should not be moved anywhere else.

For one, he was truly old for a polar bear, so he was visibly weak. He has a weak sense of sight and smell. He also wasn't able to see anything with his right eye.

During his final days, Arturo refused to eat much food.

Because of this, the world's saddest polar bear quickly lost a lot of weight. A group of people thought of conducting euthanasia to end Arturo's misery, but then he passed away.

Arturo was only 8 years old when he was taken to Argentina from the United States.

Since then, he has lived all his life in Mendoza Zoo, even though the area can have temperatures above 30 degree Celsius.

Polar bears do not usually survive beyond 25 years, so Arturo was amazing in his own way.

Even though he was alone many times, he still managed to live a long life. Sadly, he should have been treated better by the officials at the zoo.

Since December last year, more than 60 animals have already died at Mendoza Zoo.
