Being the only animal of your kind in a zoo can be totally depressing. Imagine being a bear, simply living for the amusement of humans. You stay there for two decades, and all you get are the sounds of noisy people and their cameras. Instead of being in a cold place, you are in a hot area, and there is no other bear for you to interact with.
That was the life of the world's saddest polar bear, who has passed away in misery. Check out his heartbreaking story below.

Arturo, the polar bear, was 30 years old, and he was seriously in need of companionship.
He once had a partner named Pelusa, but she sadly died due to cancer 4 years ago.
The officials noted that Arturo was having an unbalanced form of blood circulation which led to the alarming decline of his health.
At least a million people wanted Arturo the Polar Bear to leave the zoo in Argentina and go to Canada, which is much colder and fitting for him.
The officials noted that Arturo was already too old and should not be moved anywhere else.
For one, he was truly old for a polar bear, so he was visibly weak. He has a weak sense of sight and smell. He also wasn't able to see anything with his right eye.
Because of this, the world's saddest polar bear quickly lost a lot of weight. A group of people thought of conducting euthanasia to end Arturo's misery, but then he passed away.
Since then, he has lived all his life in Mendoza Zoo, even though the area can have temperatures above 30 degree Celsius.
Even though he was alone many times, he still managed to live a long life. Sadly, he should have been treated better by the officials at the zoo.
The officials blamed the outbreak of disease and overcrowding. Thankfully, the authorities hope to turn the zoo into an ecological park.
