The Legend of Tarzan just hit the theaters last week had received a good response from the box office. There is nothing new about the story and the characters of Tarzan. We have heard the story and watched numerous films and series since childhood. But it's been over 30 years since the last Tarzan motion picture came out. This movie is a modern take of Tarzan and was produced at a big scale.

Many factors go behind a successful film. Here is a list of ten interesting facts about " The Legend of Tarzan" movie that only a few know of.

Because the film demanded a perfect ripped body for which he had to go through intense training and a strict diet, Alexander joked that Tarzan is going to drastically different in the sequel.  "We have an outline already in which Tarzan gains weight. Tarzan remains hairy and does not have eight pack abs. It has no action and Tarzan eats cake, lots of cake. I wrote it."

Alexander's father, Stellan Skarsgard, is a well-known actor. He is one the main reasons for Alexander taking up the role of Tarzan. "My dad is a massive Tarzan fan. Growing up, we had theses VHS cassettes of the Johnny Weissmuller films, and that was my introduction to the character. But those films are seventy years old and so much time has passed that I think mine is a fresh take. I'll never compete with Johnny Weissmuller, but I just wanted to impress my father. He was thrilled; he was more excited than I was."

The director, David Yates, wanted a Tarzan to be a "modern man" but with "big muscles" but has to be "more lean, more ripped, more vertical". To get this figure Alexander went through non-stop training for four months where he basically "didn't see any family or friends" for the duration. To bulk up, he was on a strict chicken diet, and painful workout routine eventually had the incredible eight pack and a lean ripped body we saw in the movie.

Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy, and Charlie Hunnam were considered to play Tarzan.

Henry Cavill was busy with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and did not have time for Tarzan. While I am sure any of the three would have made an excellent Tarzan, after seeing Alexander exceptional performance in the role it's hard to imagine anyone else in his place.

Alexander displayed his muscular legs in MTV Movie Awards 2016 when he came on stage in just his shirt, jacket and a tight white underwear to present an award. He said, "Me Tarzan. I gotta give the fans a little skin."

After directing Harry Potter films, David Yates was approached by many, but it was the script of "The Legend of Tarzan" that had something special in it made him fell in love with it.
