There are different parameters in different countries for giving out tips at the restaurant. In the USA or Canada, you're expected to tip around 15-20% of the bill, whereas in many European and Asian countries, you're not expected to tip the waiter at all. Though you could tip a waiter only if you got any exceptional service.
This is because in the USA, waiters and servers are often underpaid and sometimes even lesser than the lower wage. Sometimes it is a cultural shock for people from outside of the USA when they go to any restaurant in the States.

Of course, he got laser eyes from his coworkers because all of them wanted to go home. But, somehow he convinced them to go home and leave the responsibility of the shop on him.
And they both started talking about the current economy and the conditions in the finance market. While this small talk, the hairstylist told the customer that he is a graduate in the finance but don't have any job because of the temporary hiring freeze in the finance market.
The customer was quite impressed, how he managed the full -time job as well as the study.
Finally, the customer gave the $7 tip to the hairstylist and left.
And told the hairstylist that he is a VP at one of the largest bank and offered him a job. Yeah, just like that. Because he was impressed by his hard work and decided to interview him while he was doing his hairs.
