In her initial Bollywood years, she claims to have been a victim of the casting couch. She says that it definitely exists in the industry but luckily, she managed to get her way out of it. At the age of 9, Kalki admits to have been sexually abused by a family member.
She cracked her first film in Bollywood which was Dev D and after that she was unemployed for a year and a half. She also started thinking if Bollywood was the right place for her during that time. But, we're glad she stayed and we simply love her acting skills.
She can speak English, Hindi, Tamil and French very fluently.
Kalki's father Joel came to India from France nearly 60 years ago. He met Kalki's mother in Puducherry and they fell in love. Her father runs an aircraft making factory.
Kalki Koechlin's great grandfather, Maurice Koechlin was a structural engineer in France. He was one of the contributing engineers to have designed the Eiffel Tower.
